  2. Whether you're interested in solar or just want to save money on your electric bill, it's a good idea to make sure your house is energy efficient. An energy audit will reveal faults that are causing your house to be inefficient. You may lower energy needs and make your house more energy efficient by addressing those issues. It may be important to upgrade to energy-efficient lights and appliances, as well as weatherize your home.
